A Men’s Shed is a larger version of the typical man’s shed in the garden – a place where he feels at home and pursues practical interests with a high degree of autonomy.
A Men’s Shed offers this to a group of such men where members share the tools and resources they need to work on projects of their own choosing at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue.
They are places of skill-sharing and informal learning, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction. A place of leisure where men come together to work

Promoting Volunteers.

Yesterday Claire was at the Asda store In Long Eaton promoting volunteering

Befriending Week

During Befriending Week we were able to highlight the benefits of befriending in the community.

Following the TV feature on the funeral of Mr John Kearns, we contacted BBC East Midlands Today to say that John had been receiving services from us. This resulted in a filming session at the Tea Dance and coverage on the television of our befriending service. We have since received a number of new requests for people to volunteer but we always need volunteers to meet demand. Supporting people in our community is very important as we know there are many people who are socially isolated.

Please call for 0115 9466740 for more information on how you can help.
