New Volunteer Opportunity

Healthwatch Erewash
 
Executive Board Director (Volunteer)

The Executive Board plays an important role in contributing to the strategic direction of Healthwatch Derbyshire, ensuring necessary financial and human resources are in place for the organisation to achieve its objectives.

Joining the Board provides a great opportunity to help make a real difference to delivering service improvements and benefits for communities across Derbyshire.

Healthwatch Derbyshire Executive Board positions are voluntary and unpaid but we do pay out of pocket expenses.

            
Healthwatch Derbyshire will:
- Have the power to enter and view services
- Influence how services are set up and commissioned by having a seat on the local health and wellbeing board
- Produce reports which influence the way services are designed and delivered
- Provide information, advice and support about local services
- Pass information and recommendations to Healthwatch England and the Care Quality Commission.

Somebody with some knowledge and understanding of health and social care service provision. this could be through working in a particular service area or a general understanding/experience as a carer or service user, or from an interest in this area.

Commitment to improving the lives of others

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a team

Good communication skills and the ability to talk to people from all walks of life

Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and ability to respect this at all times.

Good written English skills to a level enabling contribution to report writing

Able to commit at least 1 to 2 days every other month to volunteering in this role.
