Erewash Borough Council's Community
Grant Scheme gives both large and small voluntary organisations the chance to
apply for funding of up to £2,000 for projects and services that benefit
Erewash residents. The Council has continued its support for voluntary
organisations and has again made funding available to help as many groups as
possible.
The Community Grants programme
offers the chance for organisations and groups to apply for a grant of up to
£2,000, subject to eligibility, for innovative projects that help and support
residents in the borough and the council is particularly keen to hear about new
or ground-breaking projects that could be helped by the money.

Erewash Borough Council – Members Scheme
For the 2019-2020 financial
year each Erewash councillor has £500.00 to award to organisations within
their ward. It is for each
councillor to determine which project(s) or organisation(s) they
wish to support. The scheme allows a wide degree of flexibility in the type of
project a councillor may support and the amount (minimum £50) they
wish to allocate, subject to approval.
Foundation Derbyshire
Foundation Derbyshire offers a wide range of funding programmes with most
grants up to £2,000. Grants are
available for voluntary and community groups, not for profit organisations and
charities usually for a 12 month period.
The
Fund offers small grants of a minimum £50 up to £5,000. The award period is one
year and groups are welcome to reapply to the fund after that time.

Derbyshire County Council – Action Grants
Derbyshire
County Council have launched a new grant scheme called Action Grants for
groups, clubs, local authorities, local charities and other non-profit
organisations working in communities.
There are grants themes and these include:

Physical
Activity and Sport
The
Action Grants programme will run for a period of two years from May 2018 until
the end of May 2020.
There
are three levels of funding across the four themes:

Small
Grants up to £500
·
Medium
Grants up to £5,000
·
Large
Grants up to £10,000
There
is an application form which needs to be completed. Applications for small grants will be sorted
quarterly, medium and large grants can be applied for annually.
The next date for small applications is 30
September 2019
#IWill
Fund – Social Action for Young People
#iwill is a UK-wide
campaign that aims to make social action part of life for as many young people
as possible by the year 2020. Through collaboration and partnership, it is
spreading the word about the benefits of youth social action.
Step Up To Serve, The
National Lottery Community Fund and the Government Office for Civil Society
have invested £2 million this year to fund groups delivering youth social
action opportunities.
Nottingham Community
Foundation are supported by Nottingham Fire and Rescue Service and Nottingham
Police and Crime Commissioner.
Nottinghamshire Community
Foundation will be administering 2019 grants for groups in Nottinghamshire and
Derbyshire.
Grants
· Grants
are between £1,000 and £5,000.
· Projects
can be up to a year in duration.
· Grants
should deliver campaigning, fundraising and/or volunteering opportunities
for young people age 10 to 20 years old, or up to 25 for disabled people.
Who is
eligible for a grant?
·
This fund is open to registered charities, constituted community
groups and other charitable organisations including Social Enterprises and CICs
limited by guarantee in England.
· National
organisations with local branches (with their own management committee and bank
account) can apply.
· The
organisations that can demonstrate they are financially robust can apply.
Amounts
available and rounds
·
The #iwill Fund will provide funding of between £1000 and £5000
for each project.
The fund
will open for applications on 3rd June 2019 and close on 12th August 2019.
The grants panel will make
decisions on applications in September.
Derbyshire
Environmental Trust Capital Funding Scheme 2019-2020
The
Derbyshire Environmental Trust is running its own funding scheme aiming to
distribute around £40,000 in 2019/2020.
Projects
must lie within the county of Derbyshire and within 10 miles of s licensed
landfill site. Applications will be
considered from not-for-profit community/environmental organisations and
parish/town councils.
The minimum
grant request will be £5,000 and a maximum of £20,000.
Examples of
the types of projects that would be eligible include the provision and
maintenance and repair of children’s lay areas, skate parks, multi-use games
areas, sports fields, community centres/villages halls.
The closing date for
applications is 25 October 2019
Inter Faith
Youth Trust Small Grants Programme
Grants are available
for organisations involved in inter faith projects for young people that take
place in the UK during faith week.
The Inter
Faith Youth Trust offers grants to organisations throughout the UK and aims to
fund projects providing inter faith educational projects in order to improve
collaboration and understanding between religious groups. Inter faith week will take place from 10 – 17
November 2019.
The deadline is Friday 23
August 2019
Space to
Connect Grants Scheme – Co-op Foundation
Space to
Connect is a £1.6 million partnership between the Co-op Foundation and the
Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. It builds on the community to unlock the potential
of community spaces as part of the government’s loneliness strategy.
There are
two strands of funding:

Enhance – grants of between £30,000 - £50,000 that are
already using a community space in an innovative and creative way and want to
expand activities. The deadline for this strand is 31 July 2019 at
noon.
· Explore – grants of up to £10,000
for organisations that want to start exploring ways that local challenges can
be addressed through better use of space that could be opened up for community
use. The deadline for applications is 12 August 2019
at noon.
The work must
take place in England between October 2019 and 31 March 2020.
Centre for
Social Justice (CJS) Awards 2020 Invite Applications
The CJS are inviting grassroots charities and social
enterprises from across GB to apply to the annual awards. Six winners will receive £10,000 each to
scale their impact.
The awards are focused on finding charities and social
enterprises who are providing themselves effective at preventing and tackling
poverty in Britain.
There are six categories:
· Addiction
· Family
· Work
· Education
· Criminal Justice
· Financial Inclusion
The award judges will be interested in organisations with
particular aspects.
Charities can apply to multiple categories but will be only
able to win one award.
Deadline
for entries is 7 October 2019.
NHS
England Grants to Showcase Good Practice in Healthcare
One off
grants are available to voluntary, community and social enterprise
organisations to support projects that showcase good practice around patient
and citizen involvement in healthcare in England.
Grants
of up to £2,500 are being made available to VCSE organisations. Applicants will need to explain how they have
involved patients and citizens in healthcare projects and how they plan to use
the grant to share and showcase their work in a creative way.
Deadline for applications is 23
September 2019
Places of Worship Protective Security Funding
Scheme
Grants are available to provide security
measures to places of worship in England and Wales that have been subject to,
or are vulnerable to a hate crime attack.
Grants of up to £56,000 per place of worship
are available. Places of worship need to
contribute at least 20% of the total cost of the project.
There are a number of eligible items of
expenditure as well as restrictions

Bright
Ideas Fund
The
Bright Ideas Fund supports new community business ideas through the start-up
and planning stages with tailored business support, to the implementation stage
with grants of up to £15,000 Open to
community groups, associations and organisations across England who have a good
idea for a community business but need help developing it.
The Bright Ideas Fund opens on
Tuesday 6 August 2019 and will close on 30 September 2019
Postcode
Community Trust
Registered
charities and community groups can apply for grants of £500 - £20,000 from the
Postcode Community Trust for projects to help people ensuring they have the
skills, opportunities and rights to improve their lives. Projects need to fight poverty and discrimination.
To be
eligible projects should focus on:

Promotion
of human rights
·
Combatting
discrimination
Only
registered charities can apply for grants above £2,000
Applicants
successful to the deadline will be invited to submit full proposals during
September.

GSK
Impact Awards
The GSK
Impact awards provide funding, training and development for charities doing
excellent work to improve people’s health and wellbeing. The awards are open to registered charities
that are at least three years old, working in a health related field in the UK
with a total annual income of between £80,000 and £2.5 million.
Up to 20
awards will be made ranging from £3,000 to £40,000
Winning organisations
will have a film made, receive support
with press and publicity and be given a set of promotional materials. They will also be offered free training and
development valued at £9,500
Closing date for applications 23
September 2019
Lloyds Bank Foundation – Enable Programme
Enable grants fund activities related to the development
and improvement of a charity’s capability.
Enable grants are awarded to charities that meet the eligibility
criteria and have clear identified development areas which will support their
growth.
There is one online eligibility questionnaire followed by
an initial application. If criteria and
eligibility are met charities will be contacted to complete a full application
form and assessment.
Grants of up to a total of £15,000 across one or two
years.
The application deadline is 31 August 2019
British
Cycling Places to Ride Programme
Grants
are available to not for profit organisations in England that are developing
cycling activity in their community.
The key
objectives of the programme are to:

Inspire
people to ride
·
Connect
the community
·
Build
a lasting legacy
There
are two levels of funding:
·
Small
grants of between £1,000 and £50,000 are available.
·
Larger
grants of up to £500,000
The
funder is looking for organisations that really understand cycling and
applications will be accepted from not-for profit organisations located in
England. Match funding is required
between 25 – 50%
Applications can be submitted
anytime until 15 January 2021. Decisions
will be made every 12 weeks.
Green
Hall Foundation
The
objective of the Green Hall Foundation is to sustainably improve lives among
the sick, elderly, disabled and disadvantaged particularly in the UK.
Preference
is given to appeals where the Foundation can meet a significant proportion of
the funding required and to appeals where permanent equipment or building is
required as opposed to funding salaries and charity running costs.
Typical
awards are £1,000 to £10,000
Trustees
will meet in November and only the first 100 applications go forward to the
Trustees for consideration.

Tech
to Connect Challenge
The Tech
to Connect Challenge is funded by DCMS as part of the ‘Let’s Talk Loneliness’
campaign to help tackle the stigma of loneliness and encourage people to speak
out.
Applicants
need to outline a problem related to social isolation and set out how
technology could help to address it. Seven finalist will be invited to follow a
five month programme of guided support.
The deadline is 7 August 2019
Henry
Smith Grants for Young People
The
Henry Smith Charity offers funding for recreational trips and holidays for
groups of disabled or disadvantaged children aged 13 and under.
Grants
range in size from £500 to £2,500.
Eligible applicants should be either a school, a small charity or a not
for profit organisation.
Concertina
Concertina
makes grants to charitable bodies which provide musical entertainment and
related activities for the elderly. The
organisation is keen to support smaller organisations which might otherwise
find it difficult to gain funding.
Charities
are invited to make an application to the Trustees via the administrator. Grants are a maximum of £250.
Trustees review applications after
the deadline date of 31 October 2019
Skipton Building Society
The Skipton
Building Society Charitable Foundation was established in February 2000 and is
exclusive to registered charities and support is given by way of direct
donations. The Society makes an annual payment to the Foundation to fund these
grants.
Independent of
the Society and its policies, the Foundation's decisions are determined by a
Board of Trustees, the majority of which are independent of the Society.
The Charitable
Foundation is run by seven trustees, including five who are independent of the
Society. It's their job to decide which good causes will benefit from our
support. The foundation is supported by two volunteer administrators.
Charities that apply to the Foundation will
be considered for donations up to £3,000
The Trustees usually meet quarterly in March, June, September and December.

Near
Neighbours Small Grant Fund
The Near
Neighbours small grants programme has reopened with new guidelines for 2019.
The Near Neighbours programme offers small grants
between £250 and £5,000, as seed funding for local groups and organisations who
are working to bring together neighbours.
Eligible groups and organisations must be working to
develop relationships across diverse faiths and ethnicities in order to improve
their communities.
To be eligible for one of our small grants, your
project should meet the following criteria:
