Erewash Voluntary Action Small Grants Scheme
Small grants are
available through the Erewash Small Grants Scheme for local Erewash community
and voluntary groups. Groups can apply
for up to £1,500 as long as projects meet at least one of the health priorities
of the scheme. The aim of the grant is
to help improve services and opportunities for local people. Funding can help
support things like equipment, events, activities and guest speakers.
The Erewash Small Grants
Scheme is funded by Derbyshire Council Adult Care Services and Erewash Borough
Council. The scheme also incorporates
Derbyshire County Council Public Health small grants funding.
Applicants must meet as
a minimum one of the grant scheme health priorities which includes the Erewash
Public Health locality priorities – reduce alcohol and drug related harm,
increase uptake of healthy lifestyles, raise aspirations of young people and
the community, improve emotional health and wellbeing and older people and dementia.

Erewash Voluntary Action
manages the small grants scheme in partnership with Erewash Borough Council and
Derbyshire County Council Adult Care and Derbyshire County Council Public
Health.
Erewash Borough Council – Community Grant
Scheme
Erewash Borough Council's Community
Grant Scheme gives both large and small voluntary organisations the chance to
apply for funding of up to £2,000 for projects and services that benefit
Erewash residents. The Council has continued its support for voluntary
organisations and has again made funding available to help as many groups as
possible.
The Community Grants programme
offers the chance for organisations and groups to apply for a grant of up to
£2,000, subject to eligibility, for innovative projects that help and support
residents in the borough and the council is particularly keen to hear about new
or ground-breaking projects that could be helped by the money.
Subject to funding remaining available, details of further funding
rounds will be published on the Erewash Borough Council web site.

Erewash Borough Council – Members Scheme
For the 2019-2020 financial
year each Erewash councillor has £500.00 to award to organisations within
their ward. It is for each
councillor to determine which project(s) or organisation(s) they
wish to support. The scheme allows a wide degree of flexibility in the type of
project a councillor may support and the amount (minimum £50) they
wish to allocate, subject to approval.
Foundation Derbyshire
Foundation Derbyshire offers a wide range of funding programmes with most
grants up to £2,000. Grants are
available for voluntary and community groups, not for profit organisations and
charities usually for a 12 month period.
The
Fund offers small grants of a minimum £50 up to £5,000. The award period is one
year and groups are welcome to reapply to the fund after that time.
Applications
are made on-line
Tampon Tax Community Fund
The Community Foundation for Staffordshire is
working with UK Community Foundations to deliver the Tampon Tax Community Fund
in Derbyshire.
The tampon Tax allocates funds to projects that
improve the lives of disadvantaged women and girls. Grants of up to £10,000 are available to
charities and community groups delivering projects that support women and girls
to build confidence and skills, improve their health and wellbeing and build
social networks.
The closing date is 11
October 2019
Postcode Dream Trust – Dream Fund
The Dream Fund has been developed to give charities
the chance to deliver the project they have always dreamed of, but never had
the opportunity to bring to life.
Charities can apply for up to £1.5 million to deliver their project over
24 – 36 months.
Applications must come from a collaboration of at
least two organisations and the Dream Fund is looking for projects that seek to
implement systemic change to address important social or environmental
problems.
The new funding themes are:

Environmental systems changes
·
Sustainability systems change
·
Health and wellbeing systems change
The Dream Fund has a three stage application
process.
The closing date for Stage 1 applications is 15 October 2019
ESF Community Grants to Support Unemployed
The ESA Community Grants funding programme gives
small, voluntary and community organisations with a turnover of less than
£500,000 an opportunity to access funds to deliver projects that help engage
and progress hard to reach individuals towards the labour market.
Priority will be given to applications that
demonstrate an ability to meet the LEP priorities and target participants who
are over 50, with learning difficulties and disabilities, from ethnic minority
backgrounds, women, and unemployed for over6 months and furthest from the
labour market.
Round 2 opens on 15 November and closes on 15 December 2019
Worshipful Company of Weavers Benevolent Fund
The Benevolent Fund is the charity through which the
company directs its main charitable giving and the Charitable Grants Committee
apply the income to support work in the following areas:
· Young offenders
· Prisoners and ex-offenders
· Young disadvantaged people, especially those at risk of criminal
involvement
Organisations must normally be registered charities
or in the process of applying for registration.
The company will consider up to £15,000 per annum and will normally
award a grant for one year only.
The deadline for applications is 30 November 2019
Coalfields Regeneration Trust
The Coalfields Regeneration Trust is dedicated to
improving the quality of life for the 5.5 million people living in Britain’s
former mining communities. Many of these communities still require support due
to the huge impact the closure of the mines had upon them.
The Coalfields Community Investment Programme
(England) is a £500,000 fund created to support activities that tackle some of
the key challenges that still remain in coalfield communities. The fund is open
to projects that deliver in the top 30% most deprived coalfield communities and
that will make a positive difference in addressing the following themes:

Skills: Growing the skills of people in order to
increase their opportunities
·
Employment: Developing pathways to increase the
number of people in work
·
Health and Wellbeing: Supporting activities that
improve the health and wellbeing of all age groups

There are only a few wards that are eligible in
Erewash and these include:

· Cotmanhay
· Hallam Fields
· Larklands
· Little Hallam
The Eligibility Survey closes on 29 November 2019
DM Thomas Foundation Grants
The DM Thomas Foundation offers grants of up to
£30,000 although the majority are for under £5,000 to charities and CIC’s
working on behalf of disadvantaged young people. The priorities include:
· Children and young people with disabilities
· Children and young people who are sick in hospital
· Children and young people who are life limited
· Mental health of children and young people
The next deadline for applications is 8 October 2019
New Comic Relief Community Fund
Comic Relief has launched a new Community Fund. Grassroots community organisations with an
income of less than £250,000 can apply for funding.
A Capacity Building Grant is available up to £500 as
well as a Project Delivery grant up to £4,000
Grants are only available if organisations can
deliver on the Comic Relief strategic themes which include children survive and
thrive, fighting for gender justice, a sage place to be and mental health
matters.
Both strands of funding accept applications on a rolling basis and
there are no application deadlines.
East Midlands Airport Community Fund
The Community Fund awards grants to support eligible
projects that have a long lasting community, social or environmental benefit
and can award a maximum of £2,000 per application.
There are objectives and applicants must meet at
least one of those:
· Bring the community closer together through facilities for sport,
recreation and other leisure activities
· Supporting young people
· Environmental improvements
· Improve environmental issues
· Encourage or protect wildlife
Check that you are eligible to apply in terms of
geographical area the fund covers.
The next closing date is 23 October 2019
The
CAF Tourle Foundation Fund
The CAF
Tourle Foundation Fund awards grants to local charitable organisations
delivering services for local people at the heart of the community. Applications can be made for up to £5,000 and
have an annual income below £100,000.
Projects must be complete within a year from the date of award.
The programme will re-open for
applications from 16 October 2019
Triangle
Trust 1949 Fund
Community
and voluntary organisations working solely with the rehabilitation of offenders
or ex-offenders within the UK can apply for a development grant. The development grant scheme provides core
funding to support organisations to implement step change in their development.
Grants
are available from £10,000 up to £80,000 for duration of six months to three
years. This funding is highly
competitive and available to charities, not for profit social enterprises and
CIC’s.
The deadline for applications is 22
October 2019
FCC
Community Action Fund England
Grants
are available to not for profit organisations for amenity projects eligible
under Object D of the landfill Communities Fund and locate within 10 miles of
an eligible FCC environment waste facility.
Grants
of between £2,000 and £100,000 are available for projects with a maximum total
cost of £500,000 All grant recipients
are required to secure a third party payment.
This
funding was previously known as WREN.
The deadline for applications is 11
December 2019
Derbyshire
Environmental Trust Capital Funding Scheme 2019-2020
The
Derbyshire Environmental Trust is running its own funding scheme aiming to distribute
around £40,000 in 2019/2020.
Projects
must lie within the county of Derbyshire and within 10 miles of s licensed
landfill site. Applications will be
considered from not-for-profit community/environmental organisations and
parish/town councils.
The minimum
grant request will be £5,000 and a maximum of £20,000.
Examples of
the types of projects that would be eligible include the provision and
maintenance and repair of children’s lay areas, skate parks, multi-use games
areas, sports fields, community centres/villages halls.
The closing date for
applications is 25 October 2019
Centre for
Social Justice (CJS) Awards 2020 Invite Applications
The CJS are inviting grassroots charities and social
enterprises from across GB to apply to the annual awards. Six winners will receive £10,000 each to
scale their impact.
The awards are focused on finding charities and social
enterprises that are providing themselves effective at preventing and tackling
poverty in Britain.
There are six categories:
· Addiction
· Family
· Work
· Education
· Criminal Justice
· Financial Inclusion
The award judges will be interested in organisations with
particular aspects.
Charities can apply to multiple categories but will be only
able to win one award.
Deadline
for entries is 7 October 2019.
British
Cycling Places to Ride Programme
Grants
are available to not for profit organisations in England that are developing
cycling activity in their community.
The key
objectives of the programme are to:

Inspire
people to ride
·
Connect
the community
·
Build
a lasting legacy
There
are two levels of funding:
·
Small
grants of between £1,000 and £50,000 are available.
·
Larger
grants of up to £500,000
The
funder is looking for organisations that really understand cycling and
applications will be accepted from not-for profit organisations located in
England. Match funding is required
between 25 – 50%
Applications can be submitted
anytime until 15 January 2021. Decisions
will be made every 12 weeks.
Concertina
Concertina
makes grants to charitable bodies which provide musical entertainment and
related activities for the elderly. The
organisation is keen to support smaller organisations which might otherwise
find it difficult to gain funding.
Charities
are invited to make an application to the Trustees via the administrator. Grants are a maximum of £250.
Trustees review applications after
the deadline date of 31 October 2019
Near
Neighbours Small Grant Fund
The Near
Neighbours small grants programme has reopened with new guidelines for 2019.
The Near Neighbours programme offers small grants
between £250 and £5,000, as seed funding for local groups and organisations who
are working to bring together neighbours.
Eligible groups and organisations must be working to
develop relationships across diverse faiths and ethnicities in order to improve
their communities.
To be eligible for one of our small grants, your
project should meet the following criteria:

Working locally
·
Working sustainably
·
Improving the
community
·
Committing to
diversity
Applications are accepted
on a rolling basis with a final deadline for applications 11 October 2019
Derbyshire County Council – Action Grants
Derbyshire
County Council have launched a new grant scheme called Action Grants for
groups, clubs, local authorities, local charities and other non-profit
organisations working in communities.
There are grants themes and these include:

Youth
activity
·
Community
Safety
·
Community
Activity
·
Physical
Activity and Sport
The
Action Grants programme will run for a period of two years from May 2018 until
the end of May 2020.
There
are three levels of funding across the four themes:
·
Small
Grants up to £500
·
Medium
Grants up to £5,000
·
Large
Grants up to £10,000
There
is an application form which needs to be completed. Applications for small grants will be sorted
quarterly, medium and large grants can be applied for annually.
The next date for small applications is 31 January
2020
Magic
Little Grants
Localgiving
and Postcode Community Trust have joined together to provide grants of up to
£500 to small local charities and community groups to help them deliver
engaging physical activities which help to overcome the barriers to
participation.
Preference
will be given to those projects that encourage social cohesion and help
vulnerable people to overcome barriers to participation.
Successful projects will support and inspire people to participate
in sports and exercise with the primary aim of improving the physical health of
participants.
The deadline for applications is 30
November 2019
Henry
Smith – Housing First Programme
This is
a new £1.4 million programme for charities and not-for profit organisations
that are delivering or planning to deliver Housing First services.
Applications
will be accepted from organisations with an annual income of between £100,000
and £5 million that provide services for homeless people who have complex needs
with stable and affordable housing solutions.
Grants
are flexible and can be used for anything required to provide a high quality
service. Grants are available between
£200,000 and £400,000 for up to 4 years.
There is
no application form, expressions of interest should be emailed to the Henry
Smith Charity.
The deadline for expressions of
interest is 4 November 2019.

National Lottery Community
Fund Announces new Climate Fund
The new fund will build
a network of people and communities well placed to drive change within between
and beyond their community. Areas will
include sustainable energy, sustainable transport, consumption, food and
protecting and regenerating habitats and spaces.
The Climate Action Fund
is expected to open for applications in the Autumn 2019.
New #Celebrate National Lottery 25 Fund
The
National Lottery Community Fund has announced it will be making a special pot
of £7.5 million available to mark the launch of the National Lottery in
November 1994.
The
special fund is intended to support activity designed to bring communities and
people together across the UK. Up to £2
million will be made available in small grants of up to £1,000
