Erewash Voluntary Action Small Grants Scheme
Small grants are
available through the Erewash Small Grants Scheme for local Erewash community
and voluntary groups. Groups can apply
for up to £1,500 as long as projects meet at least one of the health priorities
of the scheme.
The aim of the grant is to
help improve services and opportunities for local people. Funding can help
support things like equipment, events, activities and guest speakers.
The Erewash Small Grants
Scheme is funded by Derbyshire Council Adult Care Services, Erewash Borough
Council and Derbyshire County Council Public Health.
Applicants must meet as
a minimum one of the grant scheme health priorities which includes the Erewash
Public Health locality priorities – reduce alcohol and drug related harm,
increase uptake of healthy lifestyles, raise aspirations of young people and
the community, improve emotional health and wellbeing and older people and
dementia.
It is advised to read

Erewash Voluntary Action
manages the small grants scheme in partnership with Erewash Borough Council, Derbyshire
County Council Adult Care and Derbyshire County Council Public Health.
Erewash Borough Council – Community Grant
Scheme
Erewash Borough Council's Community
Grant Scheme gives both large and small voluntary organisations the chance to
apply for funding of up to £2,000 for projects and services that benefit
Erewash residents. The Council has continued its support for voluntary
organisations and has again made funding available to help as many groups as
possible.
The Community Grants programme
offers the chance for organisations and groups to apply for a grant of up to
£2,000, subject to eligibility, for innovative projects that help and support
residents in the borough and the council is particularly keen to hear about new
or ground-breaking projects that could be helped by the money.
The grant scheme is currently closed at the moment
for applications.

Erewash Borough Council – Members Scheme
For the 2019-2020 financial
year each Erewash councillor has £500.00 to award to organisations within
their ward. It is for each
councillor to determine which project(s) or organisation(s) they
wish to support. The scheme allows a wide degree of flexibility in the type of
project a councillor may support and the amount (minimum £50) they
wish to allocate, subject to approval.
Foundation Derbyshire
Foundation Derbyshire offers a wide range of funding programmes with most
grants up to £2,000. Grants are
available for voluntary and community groups, not for profit organisations and
charities usually for a 12 month period.
The
Fund offers small grants of a minimum £50 up to £5,000. The award period is one
year and groups are welcome to reapply to the fund after that time.

Jefford
Weller Fund to Prevent Homelessness
Foundation Derbyshire the fund works to help
prevent homelessness in Derby City and Derbyshire tackling the root causes and stopping
vulnerable individuals spiralling into a situation where they may become
homeless. This could include supporting individuals with mental health
problems, addictions, debt problems, dealing with domestic abuse and a range of
other issues.
The fund also recognises the
need for reactionary work providing support for people who are currently
homeless whether this is the basic provision of shelter and food or more
long-term support to re-gain tenancies and education.
The type of project costs
funded includes capital (equipment) for refurbishment or building work and revenue
(non-equipment) including running costs for a project or group.
The maximum grant is
£2,000
There are no fixed deadlines but the decision-making panel meets
quarterly.
Derbyshire County Council – Action Grants
Derbyshire
County Council have launched a new grant scheme called Action Grants for
groups, clubs, local authorities, local charities and other non-profit
organisations working in communities.
There are grants themes and these include:

Activity and Sport
The
Action Grants programme will run for a period of two years from May 2018 until
the end of May 2020.
There
are three levels of funding across the four themes:

Small
Grants up to £500
·
Medium
Grants up to £5,000
·
Large
Grants up to £10,000
There
is an application form which needs to be completed. Applications for small grants will be sorted
quarterly, medium and large grants can be applied for annually.

National
Churches Trust’s Foundation Grants Programme 2020
Listed and
unlisted Christian places of worship of any denomination in the UK are invited
to apply for grants towards urgent maintenance works, small repairs and small
investigative works and surveys.
Grants of
between £500 and £5,000 are available for repair projects on buildings that
were originally built as churches and are open to the public on a regular
basis. The funding aims to support interventions to investigate or address
small problems before they turn into large repairs.
The Trust provides funding for:
• Urgent maintenance work.
• Items
identified as high priority within a Quinquennial Inspection report/survey
reports/other sort of report.
• Small
investigative works/surveys.
Total
projects costs can be up to £10,000 (excl. VAT) but grants must not exceed 50%
of project costs.
The
programme is open to applications from across the UK.
Applications can be made
at any time between now and 30 October 2020.
Severn
Trent Community Fund
From
2020 Severn Trent will be giving away more than £10 million over the next 5
years to help local projects, charities and groups to improve community
wellbeing. The fund will be looking to
support projects that can demonstrate a clear link to one or more of the three
elements of community wellbeing:

People – projects that help
people to lead a healthier life and gain new skills
·
Place – ideas that create
better places to live in and use
·
Environment – schemes that will
help look after the natural environment to help give people greater access to
the environment or help look after water.
Severn
Trent will also be encouraging projects that have a link to water in some way, such
as river restoration, flood alleviation or sustainable drainage.
There
are three sizes of grant available:
· £2,000 - £10,000
· £10,001 - £75,000
· £75,001 - £250,000
Check
the information on the web site to determine what you can apply for and any match
funding required. Organisations applying
for more than £10,000 must be registered and supply a charity/company number.
Applications
will be reviewed on a quarterly basis and the panel will meet for the first
time in March and from April 2020 the first grants will be given out.

Lloyds
Bank Foundation Grants
Lloyds Bank
Foundation for England and Wales has reopened its grants programme with a
simpler and more flexible transparent approach.
Support
is available for registered charities with an annual income of between £24,000
and £1 million that are working to tackle complex social issues and who have a
proven track record of helping people achieve positive change in their local
communities.
The new
funding process considers local need, the prevalence of eligible small and
medium sized charities and the nature of the region.
There
are a number of priority areas where charities are working in and there is an
expression of interest for each priority area.
Greggs
Foundation
Applications
are now open for small, local not for profit organisations that are seeking
funding for a project that helps build resilience within their local community.
Greggs
provides grants to small not for profit organisations with a turnover of less
than £300,000.
Grants
of up to £2,000 are available for projects and proving equipment for people in
need at the heart of communities.
Projects
must support a community of interest e.g. disabled, living in poverty,
voluntary carers, homeless, isolated older people and other demonstrated significant
need.
This is
a highly competitive grant scheme.
The deadline for applications is 23
February 2020
Tesco
Bags of Help Grants Programme
After a
short break voluntary and community organisations can apply once again for
funding to support local projects which benefit their community.
Bags of
Help is Tesco’s local community awards programme, a public vote determines
which groups will receive a grant. In
2020 projects that receive the most votes will receive a maximum grant of
£2,000, second place will receive £1,000 and third place a grant up to £500.
Not for
profit organisations can apply including voluntary and community organisations. Grants must be used for projects which
develop local communities.
There is
a two-step application process.
Thomas
Wall Trust – Digital Skills 2020 Grants Programme
The Trust is marking its 100th birthday in
2020 with a new grant programme that provides funding to not for profit
organisations and registered charities that are working to improve basic
digital skills for people in need. The
programme aims to equip adults with basic digital skills for work and life
helping them to access the online world.
Grants are up to £5,000 are available for projects that
are working to improve the basic digital skills of disadvantaged people aged 18
years and older.
There are a number of priority areas for applications.
There is a two stage application process with the first
stage an expression of interest.
The first deadline to submit an expression of interest is 31 March
2020
Waitrose Community Matters
Launched
in 2008, Waitrose Community Matters donated over £14 million to local charities
chosen by the public.
If you
are a UK registered national charity and would like to be considered for the
Community Matters online initiative write a brief outline of your charity work
and any projects funding is being sought for and send it to Waitrose Community

Green
Giving – Grimple’s Green Grants
Green
projects across the UK can apply for up to £1,000 for small projects and
organisations that will support environmentally friendly projects.
Rugby
Football Foundation
The
purpose of the Rugby Football Foundation is to promote and develop community
amateur rugby in England.
A
Helping Hands Grant provides a mechanism for clubs to apply for a small grant
between £500 - £1,500 for eligible capital projects with the club matching the
grant on a £ for £ basis.
The
Groundmatch Grant Scheme provides easy to access grant funding for capital
projects which contribute to the recruitment and retention of community rugby
players.

Democracy
Pioneers Award
The
Democracy Pioneers award aims to champion emerging innovations that are
experimenting with ways to re-energise and re-shape the future of civic
participation and everyday democracy in
the UK.
Applications
are invited from constituted organisations in the UK and all sizes and sectors
will be considered. Grants of up to
£10,000 are available.
The award
is intended to support applicants to further develop their democratic or civil
participation innovation.
The deadline for applications is 31
January 2020
Coalfields
Community Investment Programme
Grants
are available to voluntary and community organisations for projects taking
place in the top 30% most deprived coalfield communities in England that will
make a positive difference in addressing the areas of skills, employment and
wellbeing.
Grants
of between £500 and £10,000 are available.
There
are only a few eligible wards in Erewash which include:

The eligibility survey for the
March 2020 committee is now open and will close on 28 February.
The deadline for applications is 13
March 2020 at 5.00pm.
Masonic
Charitable Foundation
The
Masonic Charitable Foundation builds better lives by enabling opportunity,
advancing healthcare and education. The
foundation makes grants to charities
working with people affected by poverty, sickness, disability or barriers
to education.
The first stage for the large grant
round is open until 17 February 2020
FUNDING REMINDERS
Sport
England Small Grants Fund
The fund
will provide grants between £300 and £10,000 for up to 3 years. Sport England will now support projects that
help everyone take part in physical activity whether this is formal sport or
informal activity. Another change is
that funds can now support children from the age of five.
The
fund’s priorities are now:

Getting
inactive people to become more active
·
Develop
lasing sporting habits
· Develop
more positive attitudes among young people
Any new
applicant will need to register first before applying
New
Fund for Tackling Loneliness
A new £2 million funding fund has been launched to help
organisations at the frontline of tackling loneliness across the country. The funding aims to support frontline,
grassroots organisations that bring people together and help them build social
connections.

Elephant Trust
The Elephant Trust offers grants to artists
in the visual arts, small organisations and galleries throughout the UK.
The
Trust was set up in 1975 to make it possible for artists and those presenting
their work to undertake and complete projects when frustrated by lack of funds.
It is committed to helping artists and art institutions/galleries that depart
from the routine and signal new, distinct and imaginative sets of
possibilities.
The
Trustees’ main objective is to support new work.

Buttle
UK
The maintenance, education and advancement
in
life of children and young people who through poverty and family circumstances
are in need of, and will benefit significantly from, Buttle UK’s support.

Daytrippers
Foundation – Day Trip Grant
Daytrippers
Foundation offers grants to SEND schools and units, children’s hospices and
not-for profit organisations based in the UK.
The funding is to enable groups of children and young people aged 5-25
who have disabilities and life limiting conditions to go on recreational and
educational trips.
They
will fund costs of up to £30 per child for groups of at least eight. Day trips can be for any destination but must
take place in the UK.
Applications
are being taken for day trips taking place between 1 November 2019 and 31
October 2020. Applications must be submitted at least 2 weeks
before the date of the trip.
Armed
Forces Day Grant
The
Ministry of Defence provides funding each year to help organisations and
individuals in the UK host an Armed Forces Day event to show support for the
UK’s servicemen and women, past and present.
Events to take place within two week of the Armed Forces Day event.
A
maximum grant of £10,000 is available per application providing that the MoD
funding accounts for no more than 50% of the total costs.
Local
councils, voluntary and community organisations, schools, ex-service
organisations and individuals are eligible to apply.
The deadline for applications for
event funding is 27 March 2020

Warburton’s Community Grants
Warburton’s grants will support charities and
organisations across a number of themes including:

lifestyles

Financial stability – help families manage

Worklessness – help families recognise the
benefits of employment
Community grants of up to £250 are available
as well as project grants for projects within 15 miles of a bakery or depot up
to£10,000
