Erewash Voluntary Action Small Grants Scheme
Small grants are
available through the Erewash Small Grants Scheme for local Erewash community
and voluntary groups. Groups can apply
for up to £1,500 as long as projects meet at least one of the health priorities
of the scheme. The aim of the grant is
to help improve services and opportunities for local people. Funding can help
support things like equipment, events, activities and guest speakers.
The Erewash Small Grants
Scheme is funded by Derbyshire Council Adult Care Services and Erewash Borough
Council. The scheme also incorporates
Derbyshire County Council Public Health small grants funding.
Applicants must meet as
a minimum one of the grant scheme health priorities which includes the Erewash
Public Health locality priorities – reduce alcohol and drug related harm,
increase uptake of healthy lifestyles, raise aspirations of young people and
the community, improve emotional health and wellbeing and older people and
dementia.

Erewash Voluntary Action
manages the small grants scheme in partnership with Erewash Borough Council and
Derbyshire County Council Adult Care and Derbyshire County Council Public
Health.
Erewash Borough Council – Community Grant
Scheme
Erewash Borough Council's Community
Grant Scheme gives both large and small voluntary organisations the chance to
apply for funding of up to £2,000 for projects and services that benefit
Erewash residents. The Council has continued its support for voluntary
organisations and has again made funding available to help as many groups as
possible.
The Community Grants programme
offers the chance for organisations and groups to apply for a grant of up to
£2,000, subject to eligibility, for innovative projects that help and support
residents in the borough and the council is particularly keen to hear about new
or ground-breaking projects that could be helped by the money.

rounds will be published on the Erewash Borough Council web site.

Erewash Borough Council – Members Scheme
For the 2019-2020 financial
year each Erewash councillor has £500.00 to award to organisations within
their ward. It is for each
councillor to determine which project(s) or organisation(s) they
wish to support. The scheme allows a wide degree of flexibility in the type of
project a councillor may support and the amount (minimum £50) they
wish to allocate, subject to approval.
Foundation Derbyshire
Foundation Derbyshire offers a wide range of funding programmes with most
grants up to £2,000. Grants are
available for voluntary and community groups, not for profit organisations and
charities usually for a 12 month period.
The
Fund offers small grants of a minimum £50 up to £5,000. The award period is one
year and groups are welcome to reapply to the fund after that time.

Derbyshire County Council – Action Grants
Derbyshire
County Council have launched a new grant scheme called Action Grants for
groups, clubs, local authorities, local charities and other non-profit
organisations working in communities.
There are grants themes and these include:

Physical
Activity and Sport
The
Action Grants programme will run for a period of two years from May 2018 until
the end of May 2020.
There
are three levels of funding across the four themes:

Small
Grants up to £500
·
Medium
Grants up to £5,000
·
Large
Grants up to £10,000
There
is an application form which needs to be completed. Applications for small grants will be sorted
quarterly, medium and large grants can be applied for annually.

#IWill
Fund – Social Action for Young People
APPLICATIONS WILL STILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL 8 SEPTEMBER 2019
#iwill is a UK-wide
campaign that aims to make social action part of life for as many young people
as possible by the year 2020. Through collaboration and partnership, it is
spreading the word about the benefits of youth social action.
Step Up To Serve, The
National Lottery Community Fund and the Government Office for Civil Society
have invested £2 million this year to fund groups delivering youth social
action opportunities.
Nottingham Community
Foundation are supported by Nottingham Fire and Rescue Service and Nottingham
Police and Crime Commissioner.
Nottinghamshire Community
Foundation will be administering 2019 grants for groups in Nottinghamshire and
Derbyshire.
Grants
·
Grants are between £1,000 and £5,000.
·
Projects can be up to a year in duration.
· Grants
should deliver campaigning, fundraising and/or volunteering opportunities
for young people age 10 to 20 years old, or up to 25 for disabled people.
Who is
eligible for a grant?
·
This fund is open to registered charities, constituted community
groups and other charitable organisations including Social Enterprises and CICs
limited by guarantee in England.
· National
organisations with local branches (with their own management committee and bank
account) can apply.
· The
organisations that can demonstrate they are financially robust can apply.
Amounts
available and rounds
·
The #iwill Fund will provide funding of between £1000 and £5000
for each project.
The grants panel will make
decisions on applications in September.

Derbyshire
Environmental Trust Capital Funding Scheme 2019-2020
The
Derbyshire Environmental Trust is running its own funding scheme aiming to
distribute around £40,000 in 2019/2020.
Projects
must lie within the county of Derbyshire and within 10 miles of s licensed
landfill site. Applications will be
considered from not-for-profit community/environmental organisations and
parish/town councils.
The minimum
grant request will be £5,000 and a maximum of £20,000.
Examples of
the types of projects that would be eligible include the provision and
maintenance and repair of children’s lay areas, skate parks, multi-use games
areas, sports fields, community centres/villages halls.
The closing date for
applications is 25 October 2019
Green
Hall Foundation
The
objective of the Green Hall Foundation is to sustainably improve lives among
the sick, elderly, disabled and disadvantaged particularly in the UK.
Preference
is given to appeals where the Foundation can meet a significant proportion of
the funding required and to appeals where permanent equipment or building is
required as opposed to funding salaries and charity running costs.
Typical
awards are £1,000 to £10,000
Trustees
will meet in November and only the first 100 applications go forward to the
Trustees for consideration.

Alec
Dickson Trust
Grants
available to support volunteering projects in the UK that are run by young
people (under 30 years) that address a need in the local community, with
particular interest in projects that promote and encourage volunteering among
young people.
The
funding is intended to enable socially young people to run projects that will
benefit communities in the UK and make a difference in the lives of
disadvantaged people.
Grants
of up to £500 are available.
The deadline for applications is 8
September 2019.
Power
to Change Community Business Fund
Grants
are available to help locally based and community led businesses in England to
increase their social impact and make them more viable in the long term.
Power to
Change has published the guidelines for Round 8 of the Community Business Fund.
Projects
must have a charitable purpose and meet charitable needs within the
community. Grants can be used for
capital costs as well as revenue including staff costs. Power to Change will not fund the full cost
of projects
Round 8 opens on 11 September 2019.
Co-op
Foundation – Youth-led Advocacy to Improve
Grants
are available to community organisations in England for projects that support
the aims of the #iwill campaign by helping young people (aged 10-20) have a say
in how community spaces that matter are managed.
The
Youth-Led Advocacy to Improve Community Spaces scheme has been launched by the
Co-op Foundation as the first strand of a new £3 million extension to the
#iwill Fund.
This extended
fund will run until 2022 and will have three themed strands:

Youth-led
advocacy to improve community spaces
·
Social
action that supports young people experiencing bereavement
·
Social
action that supports young people through transition from primary to secondary
school.
The deadline for applications is 20
September 2019 at 12 noon.

Henry
Smith – Housing First Programme
This is
a new £1.4 million programme for charities and not-for profit organisations
that are delivering or planning to deliver Housing First services.
Applications
will be accepted from organisations with an annual income of between £100,000
and £5 million that provide services for homeless people who have complex needs
with stable and affordable housing solutions.
Grants
are flexible and can be used for anything required to provide a high quality
service. Grants are available between
£200,000 and £400,000 for up to 4 years.
There is
no application form, expressions of interest should be emailed to the Henry
Smith Charity.
The deadline for expressions of
interest is 4 November 2019.

Comic
Relief – Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls
Comic
Relief in partnership with the Department for Culture, Media and Sports are
offering grants of up to £250,000 to UK women’s organisations. The grant is to provide front line services
to meet the needs of women and girls facing multiple disadvantages across one
or more strands of violence against women and girls.

United
Way – Give Local
The ‘Give Local’ programme commenced in 2016 with United
Way and Costco supporting 29 organisations across the UK that were working to
help those in their local communities.
These grants are aimed to support small charities
delivering services in their local communities. United Way UK is particularly
interested in supporting organisations whose work addresses the priority areas
of health, education and income and those that support disadvantaged
people.
The “Give Local” grants have been made possible thanks to
the warm generosity of Costco warehouse employees. More than 30% choose to
donate through payroll giving to charities across the UK.
30 grants will be available of £1,000 each.

Masonic Charitable
Foundation – Early Years
The
Masonic Charitable Foundation early years opportunities programme is open to
charities that help disadvantaged children and young people overcome the
barriers they face.
The deadline for applications is 27
September 2019
Cash4Clubs
– Local Sports Clubs
Awards
are available for sports clubs throughout the UK to improve facilities, buy new
kit and equipment and increase opportunities.
The
scheme is offering grants of either £500 or £1,000 to grassroots sports clubs
to provide additional sporting activities.
Match funding is not required.
The deadline for applications is 27

Magic
Little Grants
Localgiving
and Postcode Community Trust have joined together to provide grants of up to
£500 to small local charities and community groups to help them deliver
engaging physical activities which help to overcome the barriers to
participation.
Preference
will be given to those projects that encourage social cohesion and help
vulnerable people to overcome barriers to participation.
Successful projects will support and inspire people to participate
in sports and exercise with the primary aim of improving the physical health of
participants.
The deadline for applications is 30

Ping
in the Community
Table
Tennis packages designed to help bring the members of the community closer
together and inspire them to lead more active and sociable lifestyles,
irrespective of ability or background.
We’ve
teamed up with Sport England and equipment supplier to offer superb packages
that include tables, bats, balls and additional resources to kick start table
tennis in your community!
Asda
Foundation
There
are five types of funding through the Asda Foundation.
One of
the grants available is the significant local community projects funding up to
£10,000 for capital projects
FUNDING REMINDERS
Centre for
Social Justice (CJS) Awards 2020 Invite Applications
The CJS are inviting grassroots charities and social
enterprises from across GB to apply to the annual awards. Six winners will receive £10,000 each to
scale their impact.
The awards are focused on finding charities and social
enterprises that are providing themselves effective at preventing and tackling
poverty in Britain.
There are six categories:
· Addiction
· Family
· Work
· Education
· Criminal Justice
· Financial Inclusion
The award judges will be interested in organisations with
particular aspects.
Charities can apply to multiple categories but will be only
able to win one award.
Deadline
for entries is 7 October 2019.
NHS
England Grants to Showcase Good Practice in Healthcare
One off
grants are available to voluntary, community and social enterprise
organisations to support projects that showcase good practice around patient
and citizen involvement in healthcare in England.
Grants
of up to £2,500 are being made available to VCSE organisations. Applicants will need to explain how they have
involved patients and citizens in healthcare projects and how they plan to use
the grant to share and showcase their work in a creative way.
Deadline for applications is 23
September 2019
Bright
Ideas Fund
The
Bright Ideas Fund supports new community business ideas through the start-up
and planning stages with tailored business support, to the implementation stage
with grants of up to £15,000 Open to
community groups, associations and organisations across England who have a good
idea for a community business but need help developing it.
The Bright Ideas Fund opens on
Tuesday 6 August 2019 and will close on 30 September 2019
GSK
Impact Awards
The GSK
Impact awards provide funding, training and development for charities doing
excellent work to improve people’s health and wellbeing. The awards are open to registered charities
that are at least three years old, working in a health related field in the UK
with a total annual income of between £80,000 and £2.5 million.
Up to 20
awards will be made ranging from £3,000 to £40,000
Winning organisations
will have a film made, receive support
with press and publicity and be given a set of promotional materials. They will also be offered free training and
development valued at £9,500
Closing date for applications 23
September 2019
British
Cycling Places to Ride Programme
Grants
are available to not for profit organisations in England that are developing
cycling activity in their community.
The key
objectives of the programme are to:

Connect
the community
·
Build
a lasting legacy
There
are two levels of funding:
·
Small
grants of between £1,000 and £50,000 are available.
·
Larger
grants of up to £500,000
The
funder is looking for organisations that really understand cycling and
applications will be accepted from not-for profit organisations located in
England. Match funding is required
between 25 – 50%
Applications can be submitted
anytime until 15 January 2021. Decisions
will be made every 12 weeks.
Concertina
Concertina
makes grants to charitable bodies which provide musical entertainment and
related activities for the elderly. The
organisation is keen to support smaller organisations which might otherwise
find it difficult to gain funding.
Charities
are invited to make an application to the Trustees via the administrator. Grants are a maximum of £250.
Trustees review applications after
the deadline date of 31 October 2019
Near
Neighbours Small Grant Fund
The Near
Neighbours small grants programme has reopened with new guidelines for 2019.
The Near Neighbours programme offers small grants
between £250 and £5,000, as seed funding for local groups and organisations who
are working to bring together neighbours.
Eligible groups and organisations must be working to
develop relationships across diverse faiths and ethnicities in order to improve
their communities.
To be eligible for one of our small grants, your
project should meet the following criteria:
