Erewash Voluntary Action Small Grants Scheme
Small grants are available through the Erewash Small Grants Scheme for local Erewash community and voluntary groups. Groups can apply for up to £1,500 as long as projects meet at least one of the health priorities of the scheme.
The aim of the grant is to help improve services and opportunities for local people. Funding can help support things like equipment, events, activities and guest speakers.
The Erewash Small Grants Scheme is funded by Derbyshire Council Adult Care Services, Erewash Borough Council and Derbyshire County Council Public Health.
Applicants must meet as a minimum one of the grant scheme health priorities which includes the Erewash Public Health locality priorities – reduce alcohol and drug related harm, increase uptake of healthy lifestyles, raise aspirations of young people and the community, improve emotional health and wellbeing and older people and dementia.

Erewash Borough Council – Community Grant Scheme
Erewash Borough Council's Community Grant Scheme gives both large and small voluntary organisations the chance to apply for funding of up to £2,000 for projects and services that benefit Erewash residents. The Council has continued its support for voluntary organisations and has again made funding available to help as many groups as possible.
The Community Grants programme offers the chance for organisations and groups to apply for a grant of up to £2,000, subject to eligibility, for innovative projects that help and support residents in the borough and the council is particularly keen to hear about new or ground-breaking projects that could be helped by the money.
The grant scheme is currently closed at the moment for applications.

Erewash Borough Council – Members Scheme
For the 2019-2020 financial year each Erewash councillor has £500.00 to award to organisations within their ward. It is for each councillor to determine which project(s) or organisation(s) they wish to support. The scheme allows a wide degree of flexibility in the type of project a councillor may support and the amount (minimum £50) they wish to allocate, subject to approval.

Foundation Derbyshire
Foundation Derbyshire offers a wide range of funding programmes with most grants up to £2,000. Grants are available for voluntary and community groups, not for profit organisations and charities usually for a 12 month period.

Jefford Weller Fund to Prevent Homelessness
Foundation Derbyshire the fund works to help prevent homelessness in Derby City and Derbyshire tackling the root causes and stopping vulnerable individuals spiralling into a situation where they may become homeless. This could include supporting individuals with mental health problems, addictions, debt problems, dealing with domestic abuse and a range of other issues.
The fund also recognises the need for reactionary work providing support for people who are currently homeless whether this is the basic provision of shelter and food or more long-term support to re-gain tenancies and education.
The type of project costs funded includes capital (equipment) for refurbishment or building work and revenue (non-equipment) including running costs for a project or group.
The maximum grant is £2,000
There are no fixed deadlines but the decision-making panel meets quarterly.

The Derbyshire High Sheriff Fund – Derby City and County
The Fund has 3 strands:
1. Improving people’s understanding of crime, alcohol, drug and solvent abuse. Addressing these social problems through educating communities and offering projects reducing the risks. The panel will prioritise projects targeting children and young people affected by these issues or at risk.
2. Projects that help create safer communities and help prevent crimes in neighbourhoods. There will be a focus on supporting young people to keep safe and providing solutions to anti-social behaviour.
3. Consideration will also be given to projects and organisations, which the High Sheriff Fund panel, at their discretion, believes to be worthwhile.
Maximum grant is £1,000

The Derbyshire Volunteer Fund – Derby City and County
The Fund has 3 main strands:
1. Volunteer recruitment, training and retention
2. Training for staff and committee members to enhance the community group / charities efficiency or quality of service
3. Projects working to increase communication and networking opportunities
The fund will support capital (but no building works), revenue including running costs, one off events or projects.
The maximum grant is £2000, and the fund is unlikely to contribute to large projects over £20,000.
Closing dates – decision panels meet on a rolling 12-week programme.

Severn Trent Community Fund
From 2020 Severn Trent will be giving away more than £10 million over the next 5 years to help local projects, charities and groups to improve community wellbeing. The fund will be looking to support projects that can demonstrate a clear link to one or more of the three elements of community wellbeing:
- • People – projects that help people to lead a healthier life and gain new skills
- • Place – ideas that create better places to live in and use
- • Environment – schemes that will help look after the natural environment to help give people greater access to the environment or help look after water.
Severn Trent will also be encouraging projects that have a link to water in some way, such as river restoration, flood alleviation or sustainable drainage.
There are three sizes of grant available:
- • £2,000 - £10,000
- • £10,001 - £75,000
- • £75,001 - £250,000
Check the information on the web site to determine what you can apply for and any match funding required. Organisations applying for more than £10,000 must be registered and supply a charity/company number.
Applications will be reviewed on a quarterly basis and the panel will meet for the first time in March and from April 2020 the first grants will be given out.
Applications open in January 2020 the next panel meeting will be in June.

East Midlands Airport Community Fund
The East Midlands Airport Community Fund aims to bring lasing benefit to the communities around the airport. The Community Fund is managed independently by a Community Fund Management Committee that meets six times a year and is open to community groups within a defined ‘are of benefit’ that meet certain criteria.
The Community Fund awards grants to support eligible projects that have a long-lasting community, social or environmental benefit and can award a maximum of £2,000 per application.
Applications must meet at least one of the following objectives:
• Supporting young people to prepare for work
The next deadline for applications is 13 May (the March panel meeting has been deferred due to Covid 19).

Derbyshire County Council – Action Grants
Derbyshire County Council have launched a new grant scheme called Action Grants for groups, clubs, local authorities, local charities and other non-profit organisations working in communities. There are grants themes and these include:
- • Youth activity
- • Community Safety
- • Community Activity
- • Physical Activity and Sport
The Action Grants programme will run for a period of two years from May 2018 until the end of May 2020.
There are three levels of funding across the four themes:
- • Small Grants up to £500
- • Medium Grants up to £5,000
- • Large Grants up to £10,000
There is an application form which needs to be completed. Applications for small grants will be sorted quarterly, medium and large grants can be applied for annually.

The next date for small applications (up to £500) is 31 May 2020 (there will be no round for community activities as this is over-subscribed)

Masonic Charitable Foundation - Early Years and Later Life Grants
The Foundation’s grant-making programmes aim to tackle some of society’s most important issues through grants to local and national charities through a couple of key funding streams:
• Early Years Grants for children, young people and vulnerable families
• Later Life Grants which help to reduce isolation in older people
The following applies to both grant programmes:
Charities with incomes of under £500,000 can apply for a small grant of between £500 and £15,000 over 1-3 years.
Charities with incomes of over £500,000 can seek a large grant for up to 3 years.
Grants are between £10,000 and £80,000 however the average grant ranges from £20,000 to £60,000. Large grants must be used to fund a specific project.
Applications go into two stages and are reviewed on a first come first serve basis.
Small grants - Applications accepted between 3rd February and 17th April 2020 OR 8th June and 14th August 2020
Large Grants – Application accepted between 2nd December – 17th February OR 30th March and 15th June 2020

National Lottery Awards for All – UK Wide
National Lottery Awards for All offers funding from £300 to £10,000 to support what matters to people and communities. They will fund organisations with great project ideas that:
• bring people together and build strong relationships in and across communities
• improve the places and spaces that matter to communities
• help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stage.
Your project also must involve the community in the design, development and delivery of the activities you are planning.
You can apply if you are one of the following categories:
• • a charity, voluntary or community organisations
• • constituted group or club
• • Not-for-profit company or CIC
• • School (if the project benefits and involves the community)
• • Statutory body (including. town, parish and community council)

Falls Prevention Awareness Small Grants
Grants of up to £200 are available to help raise awareness of falls prevention. Grants of up to £400 are available for more ambitious projects.
The fund is open to voluntary and community groups, businesses and public sector teams across Derbyshire. The aim is to help people plan and run activities to raise awareness about the risks of falls and how to prevent them.
This is Round 1 there will be a second round later in the year.

Magic Little Grants
Small one-off grants are available to small local charities and community groups for projects in Great Britain that support and inspire people in sports or exercise with the primary aim of improving physical health.
Grants can be used to support the general running costs of new and existing sports and physical activities.

Bright Ideas Fund
The Bright Ideas Fund supports new community business ideas through the start up and planning stages with tailored business support to the implementation stage with grants of up to £15,000.
The Bright Ideas Fund is funded by Power to Change.
Prospective applicants must complete an eligibility checker to determine if you are eligible to apply for funding.
The eligibility checker will close on 6 April at 5.00pm
If you have successfully completed the eligibility checker you will receive an email that opens up the application form. You will have until midnight on 7 April 2020 to submit your application.

Healthy Communities Together – England Wide
The Kings Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF) are joining forces to support genuine partnership working in local areas between the voluntary and community sector, the NHS and local authorities to improve health and wellbeing of local communities.
The Healthy Communities together programme will offer up to £3 million of grant funding.
Phase One – a maximum of six areas will receive up to £50,000 funding from the TNLCF and a package of learning and development support from the King’s Fund for up to nine months to develop their partnership and a project plan to improve health and wellbeing.
At the end of this phase each site will be invited to apply for phase two of the programme including funding of up to £450,000 and ongoing learning and development support for a maximum of three years.

Grow Wild – Creative Nature Projects
Grow Wild is looking for young people aged 14 – 25 years with creative ideas to celebrate and share with the UK why native plants and fungi are so special.
Fifty grants of £500 are on offer for creative projects anywhere in the UK where people study, work and relax.
Applicants will need a supporting organisation such as a school or college or youth club or local community group to help them deliver the project they receive the grant on their behalf.

Grow the Game
Grants are available for not for profit organisations in England for the creation of new affiliated female or disability football teams.
The Grow the Game grant scheme is administered by the Football Foundation to support the involvement of traditionally underrepresented groups in community football.

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation Youth Work Grant
The Paul Hamlyn Foundation has a grant fund of £25 million per year until 2021 and £4 million has been set aside for projects focusing on helping marginalised young people.
Youth work organisations can apply to tow new funds – Youth Fund and Growth Fund. The Youth Fund will provide grants of between £10,000 and £60,000

The Health Foundation – Common Ambition Programme
The Health Foundation has announced a new £2.1 million programme for partnerships developing collaborative communities where people, families, health care professionals and researchers work together to improve health care.
The Common Ambition programme will support up to five ambitious teams across the UK working towards a shared aim.
Successful partnerships will receive funding of between £300,000 and £500,000 for two to three years.
Funding is available for collaborations between providers of NHS services and voluntary and community sector organisations.
The programme opens for expressions of interest on Tuesday 18 February 2020 and closes at 13.00 on Wednesday 1 April 2020.

FUNDING REMINDERS
Lloyds Bank Foundation Grants
Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales has reopened its grants programme with a simpler and more flexible transparent approach.
Support is available for registered charities with an annual income of between £24,000 and £1 million that are working to tackle complex social issues and who have a proven track record of helping people achieve positive change in their local communities.
The new funding process considers local need, the prevalence of eligible small and medium sized charities and the nature of the region.
There are several priority areas where charities are working in and there is an expression of interest for each priority area.

Sport England Major Event Volunteer Fund
Grants are available to national governing bodies or organisations hosting major sports events for projects that help individuals who are serving as volunteers at major events to make the transition to supporting sport in their local community.
Grants are between £10,000 and £100,000 are available.
The fund will be open to new applicants until January 2021 and it will cease once all the funding has been committed.

Tesco Bags of Help Grants Programme
After a short break voluntary and community organisations can apply once again for funding to support local projects which benefit their community.
Bags of Help is Tesco’s local community awards programme, a public vote determines which groups will receive a grant. In 2020 projects that receive the most
votes will receive a maximum grant of £2,000, second place will receive £1,000 and third place a grant up to £500.
Not for profit organisations can apply including voluntary and community organisations. Grants must be used for projects which develop local communities.

Daytrippers Foundation – Day Trip Grant
Daytrippers Foundation offers grants to SEND schools and units, children’s hospices and not-for profit organisations based in the UK. The funding is to enable groups of children and young people aged 5-25 who have disabilities and life limiting conditions to go on recreational and educational trips.
They will fund costs of up to £30 per child for groups of at least eight. Day trips can be for any destination but must take place in the UK.
Applications are being taken for day trips taking place between 1 November 2019 and 31 October 2020. Applications must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the date of the trip.

National Churches Trust’s Foundation Grants Programme 2020
Listed and unlisted Christian places of worship of any denomination in the UK are invited to apply for grants towards urgent maintenance works, small repairs and small investigative works and surveys.
Grants of between £500 and £5,000 are available for repair projects on buildings that were originally built as churches and are open to the public on a regular basis. The funding aims to support interventions to investigate or address small problems before they turn into large repairs.
The Trust provides funding for:
• Urgent maintenance work.
• Items identified as high priority within a Quinquennial Inspection report/survey reports/other sort of report.
• Small investigative works/surveys.
Total projects costs can be up to £10,000 (excl. VAT) but grants must not exceed 50% of project costs.
The programme is open to applications from across the UK.
Applications can be made at any time between now and 30 October 2020.

Comic Relief Community Fund (England)
The Comic Relief Community Fund (England) is offering grants to grassroots community organisations with an income of less than £250,000.
There are two types of grants available to organisations whose work delivers on one of Comic Relief’s four strategic themes:
• Children Survive & Thrive: projects that support children under the age of 5 to reach their potential and have the best start in life.
• Fighting for Gender Justice: projects that improve equality for women, girls and the LBTQI+ community and initiatives that help people affected by domestic violence, abuse or exploitation due to their gender.
• A Safe Place to Be: projects that support people who are rebuilding their lives because of homelessness or forced migration.
• Mental Health Matters: projects that support good mental health in communities, improve access to support and tackle stigma and discrimination.
Funding is available to help develop your organisation through a Capacity Building Grant (up to £500) or to deliver projects through a Project Delivery Grant (up to £4,000).
Administration of the local funding is being managed by community charity, Groundwork, which specialises in transforming communities and the local environment for the better.
